              Lord, thank you for my father, for his sacrifices and his love for me. Amen. If He did not, nothing I do will bring it to pass."    Life is like a garden, you can plant the best of seeds and still some do not grow.  The best laid plans may never come to be. Even the most carefully crafted plans can fail to work out as intended. Some of God's greatest gifts are the prayers that go unanswered. God has opened many doors for us but we often try to crawl through the broken glass window instead, only to be cut by the shattered glass. God is the ultimate parent. Just as when you were a child and you were told no, if you went on your own way, you would often find yourself hurt. God is like the parent who would come pick you up, dust you off, hold you and give you a lesson about listening and following directions, then put you back on course.  God gave us free will and if we push for something hard enough, God will let you go on your own way.
