What Does God Call Us To Do?

Love Is The Answer    Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”   Romans 12:9-16 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another.”  Colossians 3...

Father's Day

Lord, thank you for my father, for his sacrifices and his love for me. Amen. When our dads are tired, overwhelmed, or feeling weak, Lord give them the strength to continue loving and working. Lord, give them the courage to stand strong. Proverbs 23:24 – The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.  2 Corinthians 6:18 – And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. Matthew 6:9-13   "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."    Psalms 103:11-22 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love...

God Knows What You Need

"If God wills it, it will happen. If He did not, nothing I do will bring it to pass."    Life is like a garden, you can plant the best of seeds and still some do not grow.  The best laid plans may never come to be. Even the most carefully crafted plans can fail to work out as intended. Some of God's greatest gifts are the prayers that go unanswered. God has opened many doors for us but we often try to crawl through the broken glass window instead, only to be cut by the shattered glass. God is the ultimate parent. Just as when you were a child and you were told no, if you went on your own way, you would often find yourself hurt. God is like the parent who would come pick you up, dust you off, hold you and give you a lesson about listening and following directions, then put you back on course.  God gave us free will and if we push for something hard enough, God will let you go on your own way. He will let you fall because a lot of times failing is the only way w...

Fear Not

Fear is a natural response to perceived danger or threat that triggers a complex series of physiological and psychological changes in the body. It cause s a flight or fight response that increases heart rate and breathing, the tensing of muscles and dilated pupils. Additionally, fear can lead to reduced blood flow to the brain, potentially impairing cognitive function. Chronic or excessive fear can also have negative impacts on physical and mental health, potentially contributing to anxiety disorders, depression, and other health problems.   When we experience fear, our bodies release stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, preparing us to either fight or flee. This can lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure, faster breathing, and a shift in blood flow away from the digestive system. Muscles may tense, and pupils dilate. The feeling of "butterflies" in the stomach is also a manifestation of the fear response, as blood is redirected away from the digestive ...
