The Biblical Wife

Marriage is a covenant and not a contract. Marriage is intended to be commitment to which we maintain trust and fidelity until separated by death. God is the helper of all mankind and a wife is the helper to her husband. A wife is a partner to rule over creation with her husband.   God created a specific order for a husband and wife. The husband is the head of the family. The wife is the helper of her husband. God created woman from the rib of man to be beside him as a partner not to be ruled over by her husband and not to rule over her husband. God doesn’t bless mess, he blesses order. Men have great responsibility to provide for and protect his family. He is to lay down his life for his family.  A woman, a wife, must be a helper to her husband and to love, honor and respect him. A man needs these things in order to fulfill his responsibility to his wife and family. If you do not honor your husband, you will bring chaos and conflict to your marriage. You ar...

What Does God Call Us To Do?

Love Is The Answer    Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”   Romans 12:9-16 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another.”  Colossians 3...

Father's Day

Image
Lord, thank you for my father, for his sacrifices and his love for me. Amen. When our dads are tired, overwhelmed, or feeling weak, Lord give them the strength to continue loving and working. Lord, give them the courage to stand strong. Proverbs 23:24 – The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.  2 Corinthians 6:18 – And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. Matthew 6:9-13   "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."    Psalms 103:11-22 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love...

God Knows What You Need

Image
"If God wills it, it will happen. If He did not, nothing I do will bring it to pass."    Life is like a garden, you can plant the best of seeds and still some do not grow.  The best laid plans may never come to be. Even the most carefully crafted plans can fail to work out as intended. Some of God's greatest gifts are the prayers that go unanswered. God has opened many doors for us but we often try to crawl through the broken glass window instead, only to be cut by the shattered glass. God is the ultimate parent. Just as when you were a child and you were told no, if you went on your own way, you would often find yourself hurt. God is like the parent who would come pick you up, dust you off, hold you and give you a lesson about listening and following directions, then put you back on course.  God gave us free will and if we push for something hard enough, God will let you go on your own way. He will let you fall because a lot of times failing is the only way w...

Fear Not

Fear is a natural response to perceived danger or threat that triggers a complex series of physiological and psychological changes in the body. It cause s a flight or fight response that increases heart rate and breathing, the tensing of muscles and dilated pupils. Additionally, fear can lead to reduced blood flow to the brain, potentially impairing cognitive function. Chronic or excessive fear can also have negative impacts on physical and mental health, potentially contributing to anxiety disorders, depression, and other health problems.   When we experience fear, our bodies release stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, preparing us to either fight or flee. This can lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure, faster breathing, and a shift in blood flow away from the digestive system. Muscles may tense, and pupils dilate. The feeling of "butterflies" in the stomach is also a manifestation of the fear response, as blood is redirected away from the digestive ...

Follow Me

Image
Matthew 4:19 , Mark 1:17 "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men."  Matthew 9:9 , Mark 2:14 , Luke 5:27  - After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” Matthew 8:22 , Luke 9:59  - To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” ... "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead." Luke 14:27 - Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Matthew 16:24 , Mark 8:34 , Luke 9:23 - "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." Matthew 19:21 , Mark 10:21 , Luke 18:22 - Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”   John 1:43 - The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”   John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice,...

Following Jesus, Not Religion

As a follower of Jesus, I say with love, do not worship and pray to statues/pictures and idols of Jesus and Mary. This goes against the first two commandments. Jesus in not on the cross. He is Risen! He should not be permanently crucified. He never gave his literal flesh and blood to the disciples to eat and drink. At the last supper which was Passover Seder, ( a traditional Jewish meal celebrating the Israelite's' liberation from slaver y) Jesus broke the bread, representing his broken body and poured the wine, representing his blood poured out for you. He said do this in remembrance of me. Why does the Catholic church canonize dead people, praying to them and accrediting miracles to them rather than to God our Father? Confession is good for the soul but Catholic Priests do not have any God given authority to forgive sin. O nly Jesus has the power to forgive us our trespasses.  "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except throu...

Pride, Boasting, And Righteousness

Do not seek out worldly rewards on earth. Jesus encourages us to build up our heavenly treasures and receive eternal blessings.       Prioritize spiritual and eternal values over earthly possessions and achievements.  True fulfillment and happiness are not found in temporary earthly treasures but in the rewards of heaven, which are eternal and lasting.     Jeremiah 9:23-24 23  This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom      or the strong boast of their strength      or the rich boast of their riches, 24  but let the one who boasts boast about this:      that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord , who exercises kindness,      justice and righteousness on earth,      for in these I delight,” declares the Lord .   Proverbs 8:13   “To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, ...

Jesus Prays

Jesus Prays for Himself 17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. Jesus Prays for His Disciples 6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known...

God's Presence

When you are searching for something in your life and you pray to God for his presence. If your eyes can see, you will see him. If your ears can hear, you will hear him. You may see or hear the same things popping up all around you. It's not by random chance or a coincidence. Those signs are from God, don’t dismiss them. He is trying to get your attention. He wants to be in your presence, but the truth is, he needs you to be in his.

Examine Your Heart

God will judge your heart, not your sins. If you have truly given your heart to Jesus, you are sealed by God and can never be snatched away. Works alone cannot save you. They do not give you entrance to Heavens eternal life. We need to examine ourselves (our hearts) to see if we have truly given our hearts to the Lord. Sinning does not take away your salvation. God offered salvation because we are sinners not despite it. Good works do not get you into heaven. Eternal salvation is a free gift from God if you truly believe that Jesus is your Lord and he has your heart fully. An obedient life to Christ will show in your works.     Jeremiah 17:5-10 5  This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans,     who rely on human strength     and turn their hearts away from the Lord. 6  They are like stunted shrubs in the desert,     with no hope for the future. They will live in the bar...

God's Love

God loved you first. He knitted you together in your mother’s womb. He called you by name. All the days ordained for you were written in his book before one of them came to be. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord , The fruit of the womb is a reward.

The Rock

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2 You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Peter 2:5 He only is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I shall not be greatly moved. Psalm 62:6 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Luke 24:2 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. Revelation 2:17 He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his w...
